About
In the Washington district of Milan, a 1970s apartment has been reorganized through an intervention that redefines the relationships between spaces, while preserving visual and functional continuity.
The entrance, narrow and contained, opens as a private antechamber: a volume clad in wood, marked by grazing lights and custom-designed furnishings. It is a threshold space where the material and chromatic tone of the entire project takes shape.
The living area is articulated by fabric-clad panels with black profiles, offering a reinterpretation of classical boiserie. A system of sofas and central tables shapes the conversation zone, while oriental rugs and objects collected over time convey a sense of domestic layering.
The kitchen develops around a large octagonal table in marble and black lacquer. The contrast between matte and reflective surfaces, dark woods and metallic details defines a compact space, crossed by natural light filtering through large openings onto the garden.
A project that focuses on detail and material coherence, balancing architectural design and lived-in presence.
